Remembrance : Linen Sacs

2009

Liz Williamson visually and conceptually explores themes that emerge from the interrelationship between clothing and the body. The memory within the fibres of textiles and plant materials is an integral part of the weft of her work. The wall sacks conceived by the artist evoke, beyond the idea of a container that can be used to carry things, the concept of a shelter where one can hide, find safety and be alone.
